M Hunter
Gents, My latest purchase in keeping with my collection theme of Hanseatic Cross items! But what is the last ribbon? I think it may be some sort of Weimar award or Veteran's decoration? But if so, why put it after a foreign award? Have i got the ribbons correct so far? -Iron Cross 2nd Class -Red Eagle Order (4th Class?) -Oldenburg FA Cross 2nd Class & Spange -Hamburg Hanseatic Cross -Mecklenburg Griffen Order, Ritterkreuz -Turkish War Medal/Iron Crescent -??? Also the reverse is stamped DRP. Thanks for your help! Matt Edited October 1, 2009 by M Hunter

M Hunter
Weimar era Great War veterans' "honoraward"? Thank you Ulsterman. Do you, or anyone else have a picture of this award? Cheers Matt
Ulsterman
see the OMSA database: "Ehrenlegon" medal or "Flanders' cross". A paid for medal, but OFTEN worn by navy vets. http://www.omsa.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=3071
Guest Rick Research
Last ribbon is the 1920s Marinekorps Flandern Cross, which despite its name was purchasable by any German veteran. The combination is interesting... don't immediately turn anybody up-- absence of a long service award would really narrow this down but we don't have the wartime Oldenburg and Hamburg lists to match up with "invisible" Turkish "Iron Half Moon." Otherwise, everything about this combination says navy/marines to me. I have a group with a Turkish star granted to the Orderly Officer of one of the Flanders Marine Divisions. M Hunter
Rick and Ulsterman, my thanks. Ashame it isn't traceable with so many awards on there! But oh well, a great bar in my opinion! Rick would you be able to post the group you mentioned? Be nice to see! Best wishes Matt Edited October 1, 2009 by M Hunter
Guest Rick Research
It's all awards paperwork, scattered around. "Behncke" is the name... should turn up on search.
M Hunter
Gents, and Rick! Have been thinking, reading and searching... could the 6th ribbbon be the Hessian War Honour Decoration? Still seems strange to me that the Flander's Veteran's Cross was placed after a Turkish Decoration! Looking forward to hearing some opinions on this! Kind regards Matt
