Chris Boonzaier
The problem with most Alpenkorps EK docs is they are signed at company lver and not stamped... Which means, if you want to knoe if it is 1., 2., or 2. Reserve battalion, you have to know who signed it..... Any ideas?

Naxos
2 Adolf Then (not unusual to find the first-name written in Kurrent and the last-name in Latin on a document) there are 164 Germans named Then listed in the Volksbund Database Edited October 7, 2009 by Naxos

That might be the only way to track this down. I have one of the "standard" Alpenkorps EK documents and it has a unit stamp and has the stamped signature of a regimental commander (Inf.Leib Rgt.). Chris Boonzaier
Oberleutnant der Reserve Schuhmann Nailed it! But a correction... Schuchmann. Was in the 2nd reserve Jägers, maybe MG Kompagnie and not before June 1915. Thanks for the leg up. Chris
