Jim Baker Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Posting for a friend....American Revolution or maybe a commemorative??
Ed_Haynes Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 (edited) Interesting, odd, but I don't think it is anything "real"; some sort of commemorative/patriotic thing? Reverse blank??What is the date at the bottom? I can't read it due to apparent corrosion there. Edited December 10, 2005 by Ed_Haynes
coastie Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I'd look at Bi-centennial commerative stuff, the artistic style of the portrait appears to be from the 1970's or later for that matter.
Jim Baker Posted December 10, 2005 Author Posted December 10, 2005 Thanks guys. This is from another site:"Portrait is of Thaddeus Kosciusko who was a General in the Continental Army (American) during the American Revolution and then worked for Polish independence. This is probably a Polish or American patriotic society medal."Interesting.

Probably made in 1977, as the "celebrated" date in roman figures is "1777".Cheers.Ch.
