14.4.96 - Is it the date of ingress in this unit?

it , the date is his birthday. It is an Erstaz MG company of the 10th Army Corps.

I believe that this is the third of the three major styles of "dog-tags" produced by the German Army during the war, so it probably was produced mid-war or later. I believe that the second line is his "official" home address.
