Guest Darrell Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Well after a long look, I finally found the last piece of the puzzle. This beauty of a DRL w/o Swastika "Gold" version. It is also the "non" cut out type. I suppose there are Non Cut-out Bronze and Gold versions as well (I have a cut-out Silver), but the main set is complete. Sacnned Obverse:
Guest Darrell Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I hate the way my scanner makes the color so wierd looking. Here are some digital pics of what it really looks like:Obverse:
Guest Darrell Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Finally a group photo of the DRA and DRL's:
Ronny Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Congratulate Darrell, nice find. Nice to see them all together. Cheers mate, Ronny.
don Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Nice work Darrell. Did the Drl and Dra come with a document?I am not up in this area don
Guest Darrell Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 (edited) The only paper work for any of these that I have is for the Silver DRL w/ Swastika ... details here:http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/sho...ight=DRL+silverYes as far as I know they all did ... I would suspect the DRA are a little harder to find with documents? Edited December 17, 2005 by Darrell
Bob Hunter Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Are the badges that are not voided attributable to a specific maker or period?
Guest Darrell Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Are the badges that are not voided attributable to a specific maker or period? Not attributed as far as I know Bob, but they are all from the same maker as indicated by almost identical reverse setups and the flaws in the dies.Rick (Research) figures the majority of these type were punched out for the 1936 Olympics, thus the "fast-non-cut-out" features of many of these pre-1937 issues.
Guest Darrell Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Any stickpins with your group? : donThat's one slippery slope I haven't gone down yet
