Mboxer Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 (edited) I am looking at a bronze panzer assault badge maker RS&S. It looks great, except that the pin is steel not bronze. I believe that means it was replaced. Am I correct? price is $150.00 which I believe is OK if it had a bronze pin, feel free to coach me on that too.If I did it right there will be a photo attached (I'm new here, this is my first post) Edited December 20, 2005 by Mboxer
Bob Hunter Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 (edited) Welcome to the forum! A photo would be helpful. The bronze is only a finish except for some early hollow back badges. The ugly thing here is that RS&S is not a known maker of PABs. There are two styles of RS but no RS&S. Edited December 20, 2005 by Bob Hunter
Mboxer Posted December 20, 2005 Author Posted December 20, 2005 OK,, I figured out why I couldn't post a photo, it was too large. here is the back of the badge. (I hope)[attachmentid=19749]
Bob Hunter Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 The flat back is a dead giveaway on most fakes. There is one unknown maker of a flatback PAB that is perfectly authentic. This ain't it! Keep your money in your pocket.
Bob Hunter Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 OBTW, to check out some excellent examples of PABs from some of our members check out this thread;http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=591
dond Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Bob is correct. Additionally, there is one made by RRS.Don
Mboxer Posted December 21, 2005 Author Posted December 21, 2005 OK,, I'll stay away. I'll post some of the badges I have, you have me worried about them now!
Bob Hunter Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Some nice examples come up from time to time in The Sale Room forum. As a matter of fact, (shameless plug ) I posted one there myself some time ago...
don Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Can you show a picture of the front of the badge anyways don
