jshorter Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Hi everyone, I just received my newest medal bar today, and the Bavarian Militär Verdienst Order, 4th. Class with Swords is marked the following way on the reverse: - On the medal = "950 J. L." - On the Swords = "J. L. 900" I know the number is for the silver content, but what does the "J. L." stand for (which maker)? Thank you! Jason
Kev in Deva Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Hallo Jshorter Nice Eye Candy, :jumping: The J. L. = Jakob Lesser, the maker. Hofkunstansdalt und Ordenfabrik JACOB LESER Straubing Is to be seen inside many of the Order and Medal boxes these awards came in. Kevin in Deva.
M Hunter Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010  the mounting style on this bar...great piece! Kind regards Matt
IrishGunner Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I agree with Matt - this is a lovely mounting for a simple group. Of course, anything with a MVO is great in my opinion. One of my favorite decorations.
