EK 1939 Finnish Waffen SS Volunteer ?

Hi, I bought this ribbon bar recently, and now I wondering about the story it tells

First Winter war com medal - Continuation war com medal - Home front com cross - Northern Viena Cross (winter War ) - EK II

A soldier probably a private participating in Winter war behind the front in Army Group 3 (Viena Cross) then again in war 11941 alos behind lines ? Then volunteered into Waffen SS ? and got a EK II. I know that about 400 Finnish soldiers from Winter war joined waffen SS. I have hard to belive that a finnish desk soldier got an EK II or ?

Any thoughts ?
