gro Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Hi everybody, Please help me to identify a few medals, mostly from Iraq... 1
gro Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 sorry, not in good condition ..... Just would like to know what is it 1
Ulsterman Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Well, the top one is the superbly made (Hueningen?) Iraqi flood medal and the bottom one is the Arab-Israei war campaign medal. I have no clue what the Saddam one is but my guess is that Lorenzo will want it -reaaallllly badly.
Ulsterman Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 The last one is the WW2 service medal-for service in the Iraq army during 1939-45.
gro Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Thank you, see your advices!!! That is the last one at the moment not identified (have doubt about the ribbon....) 1
Ulsterman Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 The triangle one is the November, 1963 commemorative medal-to celebrate the Ba'athist coup d'tat. See the OMSA database for more information.
Guest IMHF Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Iraqi Flood Rescue Medal from 1954: Manufactured by: Huguenin Le Locle, Switzerland. It is possible that these medals were made in three classes.. Gilt Silver and Bronze.. Why I believe that is because I have seen the large table medals in Silver and Bronze.. Lorenzo
Guest IMHF Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 (edited) other side Medal for the 14th Ramadan of 1963 Manufactured by Huguenin Le Locle, Switzerland. I have seen three variations manufactured one possibly Iraqi made.. and 15 other samples of this beautiful medal. 6th medal on Saddam Hussein's medal bar. Coup against the communist government of Abd al- Karim Qassum and the Ba'athist beginning.. Edited March 11, 2010 by IMHF

Ulsterman Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 what about #3? Isn't that also a coup commemorative?
gro Posted March 11, 2010 Author Posted March 11, 2010 Medallion of Saddam Hussein our Leader of Iraq on front. I have seen these as gifts in a keychain form.. Not sure becuse it is missing it's mounting system.. Thank you Lorenzo. From the first time looks like a keychain item, but my Iraqi friend told me that the medal is official and issued in Political Department. I will check it from other sources as well. Do you have any idea about the small medal dated 1945?
gro Posted March 11, 2010 Author Posted March 11, 2010 what about #3? Isn't that also a coup commemorative? That is the other side..... I see a few times the same medal but in colours

Do you have any idea about the small medal dated 1945? Most of the Keychain items are like awards and have the mounting loop just as your medallion here.. This is a Keychain medallion not a medal.. Thank you Lorenzo Edited March 11, 2010 by IMHF
