wschmidt Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Hello People, I bought this EK1 in this last week. Is it OK? Some idea about the manufacture? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!! Regards, William Schmidt
Guest Darrell Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Obverse isn't showing, but the reverse looks like a Zimmermann.
Danny70 Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Without seeing the obverse, and from the image of the reverse alone, I too would suggest a Zimmermann/Godet, but some early Deumer crosses used a very similar pin and clasp set-up. A view of the obverse would tell a lot more. Regards - Danny
Danny70 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 (edited) Definitely not a Zimmermann/Godet judging by this obverse picture, but it doesn't look like a Deumer frame either. This image looks, IMO, quite like a B.H. Mayer '26' obverse, but I haven't seen that particular pin set-up on a Mayer cross before. Regards - Danny Edited March 25, 2010 by Danny70
Guest Darrell Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 (edited) Are you sure you don't have the pictures mixed up? ... either the reverse is not correct or it's the obverse ... but they don't belong together. Edited March 25, 2010 by Darrell
wschmidt Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 (edited) What??????? You are right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, I put the wrong front of EK1 (this is another 26 that I bought too)... This is the correct front: Edited March 25, 2010 by wschmidt
Danny70 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Ah, well that explains it! Your cross is an early unmarked Deumer. These crosses can be commonly found with a copper plated ferrous core. I cannot really see if there is any paint missing from the core of your example... can you see any copper color peeking through? Regards - Danny
wschmidt Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 Hello Danny, Thanks for your reply. I don't have the cross here. The salesman sent it to me yesterday. I will put more photos when it to arrive. Regards, William
wschmidt Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 Hello, more pictures of the EK1: It is one vaulted. Dimensions: Cross(43,78x43,78)mm; Thickness 2,91mm; Arm 25,53mm. Weight 15,6gr
all1knew Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Hello there, Nicely worn early Deumer. I really like the front of the "26" B.H. Mayer you showed as well, has a great look to it. William Kramer
