The officer in question's name appeared on the award envelope which I will post in greater detail. Any inputs would be greatly appreciated. sabrigade
I believe this to be from the stahlhelm organisation but added it to the display. This is not my field of expertise so any comments would be greatly appreciated.
HeikoGrusdat
The envelope in which his decoration was received? Yes , the Zähringer Lion was often awarded in these paper packages - but not always the name of the officer was typed there too... good for you
sabrigade
As it appears as if he has second world war medals, is there anyway of determining his ww2 service or more details of his ww1 service?

saschaw
Where did this group appear before? I think I've seen it on eBay, some weeks ago. Without the paper package or without the written name of the officer on it??? Without name and unit of the receipient...
HeikoGrusdat
Without name and unit of the receipient... Now.... that`s why I have said that he should be happy with a written name on it..... I have seen two without name and unit a long time ago and I thought that was normal....and the typed name is something special... My two order packages had just the printed order description on the top but no name or unit - both came together with other stuff in groups , one was a private purchase and one appeared at a dealer , both I think ca. 1995 - 1997 , but I don`t remember exactly - both were completely original and authentic groups in my eyes.... unfortunately I have no pictures or something else from that long time ago....maybe other members have similar stuff to show or remember packages with or without names...? sabrigade
How can I research this officer and his regiment? According to the ebay dealer I purchased the group from, he had bought the group from the family. Regards, Will
saschaw
Heiko, I have never seen a Zähringer package without name and unit and doubt there were some. If anyone has pictures, please show.
