Magician Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I recenty got this item. It's a cloath badge size 10 cm x 10 cm - Franz Joseph Commanders Order. I have never seen this so any information would be welcome, maybe someone has a picture how it was worn on clothes. Details on this badge are perfect.
Josef Rietveld Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 The only FJO-cloath badges i know are all made today in Asia. I have never seen a pre-1918 original. This makes sense because the FJO was instituted in 1849 - a little bit to late for cloath badges, which came out of fashion arround 1840. My link regards josef
Lukasz Gaszewski Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Yes, it is a modern replica. Nice item anyway!
Magician Posted June 6, 2010 Author Posted June 6, 2010 Huh I was told that it's 100% genuine. For me it's also a first time seen item so I didn't knew. It's good that I have a money back offer.
Elmar Lang Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 (edited) Yes, it's a typical embroidered "blazer-type" star, like we often see for sale on eBay. Most sellers clearly say that such pieces are fantasy decorations. The british-styled crown, allow me to think that this piece, like the other similar ones are manufacured in Pakistan, where specialized firms produce excellently made bullion embroideries. Anyways, the FJO's stars were never made in the cloth version. Best wishes, E.L. Edited June 7, 2010 by Elmar Lang
