Luftmensch Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 (edited) Can anyone check Luftwaffe rolls to see if Otto Wieprich joined as an officer around the beginning of the war? Also his son Heinz Wieprich. The whole story of the father is here:http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?s=&showtopic=4...indpost&p=42493but in short, he was asked by fellow WW1 pilot Goering to join, which Otto was supposed to have done, as Major, but since becoming a pacifist continued to wear his Lufthansa uniform, even after being made a Flugleiter in the Fuhrer Staffel right up to 1945. Would you mind posting any info to the original thread? Here is a Lufthansa document, one of the few to survive:Many thanks,John Edited December 31, 2005 by Luftmensch
David Gregory Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 Considering how willing modern German companies are to share information about their pre-1945 past, this is quite an astonishing insight into German industrial archives, quite apart from the fact that the document still exists.
