Linasl Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Hello Everybody. I just bought a French Colonial North Africa insignia. I have seen it before, but cannot identify it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I attached a low resolution photo on this post, but I have high-reolution photos on PhotoBucket, if you follow this link: http://s752.photobuc...nch%20Insignia/ All input is welcome. Take care. Linas
GRA Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Has it some connection with 1er Régiment de Spahis Algeriens? (see link 1er Régiment de Spahis Algériens) /Jonas
Linasl Posted August 9, 2010 Author Posted August 9, 2010 Hello Jonas. It is definitely a possibility. I will look at your link. Thank you for your help. Linas
noir 7 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Hello Linasl, I think it's the regimental badge of the "1° régiment de tirailleurs algériens" (natives infantry). Noir 7
WRANGEL Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Hi Linas, Yes this is definitively the badge of the 1st Regiment de Tirailleurs Algeriens (1er RTA). If you post a scan of the badge's reverse, I will be able to tell you the period of this one. Yours sincerely Bill
scotty1418 Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 This one is likely ww2 - nicely marked Drago Beranger Depose. :)
