bifter Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 I recently bought a Wilkinson flintlock from around 1780's era! Cost £700, but is a brass, iron & walnut beauty. '15mm' balls & has been well looked after. I always have loved the 'romantic' brutality of antique weaponry. Each one a work of art! I also found a battered but very ornate '17mm' ball Italian flintlock with Roman numerls '1720' along the lock. It was still loaded. I would not want to be shot with one of these. They were very 'dirty' weapons!
Brian Wolfe Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 I missed this post for some reason but I'm glad I ran onto it now. Any chance of photos of your new finds. They sound most interesting. Regards Brian
peter monahan Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 They do indeed! I too would love to see photos, Bifter.
