Thomas W Posted October 3, 2010 Share Posted October 3, 2010 (edited) Here's an Unteroffizier of Großherzoglich Mecklenburgisches Grenadier-Regiment Nr. 89 who won the Military Merit Cross. Since there were so few of these awards given out, I'm assuming someone can probably identify him. The postcard is dated 1917, so he won it in that year or before. Chip Posted June 13, 2013 Share Posted June 13, 2013 If there are any clear shots of a shoulder strap in the overall photo, we might at least be able to pin down the battalion he was from. This was the only regiment where two different royal cyphers were worn, one for the I & III battalions and a different one for the II.battalion.
