Hi,

does anyone know how long Major Richard Lockemann commanded the Hessen IR 118? I know he was there in January 1916 as commander.... but since when? and for how long?

27 June 1915 to 20 July 1916.

He is listed in the Wegner as Karl Hermann Lockemann?

on the document I am getting he is named Richard on both.

There was a major Lockemann KIA in 1914... maybe they are mixed up?

I'm a bit confused.com over this one. I have the I.R. 17 Lockemann, who I believe became commander of IR.118 as Richard. The I.R. 78 Lockemann KIA in 1914 was Adolf.

it very much appears that Wegner's "Stellenbesetzung" is wrong with regards Lockemann's given name(s). According to the Ordensliste and Generalmajor Lockemann's death notice in the MWB (and of course your documents); his name was Richard.

Only one Prussian General with the surname Lockemann and he died on 26 March 1928.
