Harrier Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 It is reported this morning on WAF that Major Dick Winters, of the 506 Parachute Infantry Regiment, E. Co. ("Band of Brothers"), 101st Airborne Division, died earlier this week and was buried yesterday. His death and funeral were kept private by his family to avoid publicity. R.I.P., Major Winters.
joe campbell Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 i was born about three blocks from where he was born in pennsylvania.... i've always slowed down and saluted whilst passing his birthplace. the world is a bit less with his passing, and it will be sad for me to pass by there next time. joe

I understadn that after "Band of Brothers" his family and himself wanted to keep to their private lives, which he had the right to do. Any more BOB guys that have recently passed? What about "Wild Bill" Guenuere?
