Garth Thompson Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I recently picked up another ESdG badge. The first one I aquired is a silver with the man's name and promotion number on the reverse. The recently aquired one appears to be gold gilt with no name. The attchment pins are similar but with slight differences. My question: Why is there a difference? TIA, Garth
Chris Boonzaier Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 The gold one for those who actuially passed? ;-) No idea... an interesting looking badge that I know nothing about... what exactly are they? Best Chris
Bison Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Hi The silver badge is for the graduated students of the French war college before WW2. After WW2, this badge has been replaced by a coin with the name and rank. I assume the unnamed gilt ones were designed for the staff and support unit to be worn in service dress. But this is just an assumption. Bison
