Eric Stahlhut Posted May 21, 2011 Author Posted May 21, 2011 the screwpost has been neatly removed, and a hefty horizontal pin assembly has been added, consiting of very sturdy plates, robust hinge, and a thick catch
joe campbell Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 lovely conversion, eric! looks like someone wore it with great pride. joe
Brian Wolfe Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Hello ERic, Excellent workmanship on the conversion, was this conversion to a horizontal pin as uncommon as I think?. A really nice EK1, thanks for posting it. Regards Brian
Eric Stahlhut Posted May 23, 2011 Author Posted May 23, 2011 hiya brian, the horizontal conversions are somewhat seldomly seen compared to the vertical repairs, however they are a lot more prevalent than ek1s that have a horizontal pin attached by the original maker. i think the only 1914 ek1 that i own with a manufacturer's 'original' horizontal pin is a 'prinzen' example
