I found max 19 candidates that wasn´t Commanders but still in U Boats

Now its just to find out who of the 19 he is :)

After looking into rank and other awards I now down to 6 possible

Gerd Suhren OberLt Ing U-37 RK 1940

Heinrich Petersen Stabssteurmann U-99 RK 1940

    Carl-August Landfermann OberLt Ing U-181 RK 1943

Georg Olschewski OberLt Ing U-66 RK 1944

Hans Johanssen OberLt Ing U-802 RK 1945

Heinrich Prassdorf OberMasch U-1203 RK 1945

    :jumping: Got Him !

And it was not one of the above :cheeky:

I missed that he had the DKIG , its Rudolf Muhlbauer !

The only Maat (leading seaman) that got the RK while serving in Uboats. born in 1919 and died 2000. He was on U-123 and had a record ? of 748 days at sea :speechless1:

Yes, definately Rudolf Muhlbauer......he received his RK whilst serving aboard U-170.

I have copies of these photos also but mine are more crisp!

There is a very good book about him and U-170: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Feindfahrt-U-170-Ritterkreuztr%C3%A4ger-Rudolf-M%C3%BChlbauer/dp/3831141355
