Unfortunately i can't track where are the decorations and the sabre now, They are beautiful pieces, and of course very historical.. Windu He was a remarkable character in many ways. The photo shows him wearing the uniform of a Lt.Colonel of the Dutch East Indies Army, thus at the end of his career. He was the only native officer to be awarded the Eresabel (Sabre of Honour) amongst a total of 108 Dutch recipients. He was awarded his Eresabel (by Royal Decree of 24 March 1877 Nr.5) for his bravery in Atjeh between 26-12-1875 and 09-03-1876; at that moment he was a Major of the barisan of Bankallan. For these actions, during this period, in total 6 (!) Eresabels were awarded.
kapten_windu
Wow, that's amazing! So he was the only Nederlandsch-Indie (Indonesia) native officer that got this sabre? Or anyone else?

He was prom to the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel 1/4/1881 and commanded the Bangkalan Barisan Corps for another 20 years!. He eventually retired with the rank of Honorary Colonel 20/8/1901. This photo appears to date from before the Lombok Pacification campaign of 1894, because for that service he was made an Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau.
