malarky Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 These all medals are fakes, aren`t? Thanks.
JBFloyd Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 All fakes made for the current tourist trade in China. Key points: 1. All bronze, with painted enamel. 2. All with the same style of ribbon and suspension bars (with tiny pins) 3. A mix of Nationalist and Communist symbols (sometimes Manchukuo) Pre-1947 Nationalist awards are usually of much higher quality. Their ribbons were usually similar to Japanese ribbons in quality and style. They were never on plain red ribbons.
JBFloyd Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Sadder yet that it turns up at militaria shows in the hands of people who should know better. They're often priced as if they had value beyond curiosity.
hc8604 Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I guess who ever got these thought they were real enough to be nicely displayed. It is a good laugh to those sellers who sell them beyond their value.. and sad for those who buy them over $3. I still see people bid on these. I think mostly Chinese bidders to increase their own feedback ratings.
malarky Posted September 7, 2011 Author Posted September 7, 2011 These are all a friend of mine, are the first to buy. I told him to beware of Chinese
kapten_windu Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 yes, they are fake, you can also find them for sale on ebay.. :P
