France Verdun medal

Hello...I am a collector of Verdun medals and the variations but have recently bought one with a ribbon that I have not seen before maybe someone can throw some light on it please? The ribbon is as old as the medal I believe so would have been bought like it possibly. My feeling is that it may be from USA or a French combattant association or the like. Any help would be very much appreciated and thanks in advance.

We have a couple of threads on these on the forum and I am very happy we have landed someone new with an interest in them.

I would imagine this one is simply a case of an old vet using what he could get?

Hi Chris and thanks for your welcome and comment. I have also seen a Somme medal with this ribbon which makes me think it must be some association or other but exactly which I hope to find out. I also collect award docs etc too as I see you do. I have one printed on the back of a German map! waste not want not and an example of early recycling!
