scottplen Posted January 5, 2012 Share Posted January 5, 2012 Here one i kept from my WW II hearts KIA Yellow Beach Makin Atoll Nov 16 1943 165th Regt landing crafts became stuck on Reef AROUND YELLOW BEACH BECAUSE OF LOW TIDE the assault waves had to wade ashore 250 yards Edward was killed when he stepped off landing craft into shell crater/ deep water and drowned under weight of his equipment 27th Div lost 58 KIAs taking Makin Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
