Paul R Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I just found an original Iraqi Saddam era flag to replace the one I brought back, which my ex got rid of for me on one of my patrols. It is not the same, as it does not have any history for me, but it is a real deal and will make an excellent back drop to my display. It is fairly high quality and made from a silk like material. The stars and script are painted on. The flag is for indoor use. It has provisions for a flag staff to be inserted through it.
bmsm Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Paul, Nice flag!! It's too bad your ex got rid of the other one as like you say, you can never replace the original. Bob
Paul R Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 I know. Ironically, she certainly found that she could be(replaced).
Paul R Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Here is a close up of the painted script. Very well executed, unlike the bring back(true "battle flags") that were found in the field/outdoors.
RRA227 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Was it like this one? 2 piece white section with sewn stars? Rich A. in Pa.
Paul R Posted April 10, 2012 Author Posted April 10, 2012 Really nice flag there! My stars and scripts are painted on.
RRA227 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Thanks. I was wondering if this is the type that was gotten rid of. This came from a S.F.guy. Rich A. in Pa.
Paul R Posted April 11, 2012 Author Posted April 11, 2012 Thank you for sharing yours. It is a cool piece.
draco Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Here is a close up of the painted script. Very well executed, unlike the bring back(true "battle flags") that were found in the field/outdoors. Very nice example, thank you for sharing
