JapanX
Just bought an interesting variation of special membership Red Cross medal. I think it will be interesting to look at it and to discuss it

JapanX
Obviously this one belongs to the post-war vintage… But when exactly was it issued?! Any ideas? Because personally I’ve never saw documented one …
JapanX
This type has very homogenous characteristics: material (aluminum or some aluminum alloy), catching ear of the medal, box and rosette style. Just take a look at another example which was recently sold at eBay and try to find differences

Dieter3
Here is another like yours - but notice the clasp on the medallion - a distinctly different type of metal - clearly capable of oxidizing differently than aluminum!
Dieter3
And here is another - notice the slight difference in the kanji on the lid? All aluminum construction (medallion and clasp). The lapel rosettes you find with these particular medals all seem to have the pin attachment and a low profile, women's and men's both. Dieter3
You also find these with paper labels:
JapanX
Nice specimens mate!!! ...notice the slight difference in the kanji on the lid? Are you kidding me? Aluminum clasp is more than enough! And of course "paper label" variation What will be your dating estimate?
