    Rare awards...

    Recommended Posts

Maybe the rarest awards of the EK 1914 is the Black Ribbon for home service.

One of the arguments used about the "devaluation of the EK 1914" was the fact that it could be awarded for service.... but these are as rare as hens teeth, I have only found 3 100% sure Black ribboned cross documents for service within Germany.

    Chris,

Melmer's first name was Christian. The certificate is signed by Albert Cramer (20.04.1854-00.07.1936)

    Chris,

He is listed in the 1914 Rangliste, but no first name (pf course) or anything to help find a first name. Some of these officers will have to remain anonymous for a little while longer!
