DDR Could someone date this pin?

I would logically assume this is an early pin being the first. Anyone know when this was held. It's a nice little pin actually and I am thinking early fifties as it has attaching pin very similar to TR. Thank You and sorry to be a bother. Robert

it is the "Hans-Beimler-Abzeichen der FDJ", used between 1967 and 1978.

This is for the 8th school year.

It is only for the three different school years:

8th school year > I

9th school year > II

10th school year > III

Hans Beimler was a famous German communist who fought during the Spanish Civil War.

He actually died during a fight and the 11th International Brigade was named after him in the end of 1936.
