JapanX
2nd class Imperial Tour Commemorative Medal (a.k.a. "medal with the flag") in silver (issued to commemorate Emperor Yung hui tour in 1909). Silver went to nobles and commoners… The medal is rare... The box is mega rare!!!!!!!! Frankly, this is the first time I see the box for this medal Obverse

Claudius
Neat! I never heard of this medal. Is this considered a Japanese or a Korean medal? Please pardon the questions, I don't know very much about this area. Thank you for the education.
JapanX
De jure - korean De facto - japanese Most likely even the medal was manufactured in Japan (or a) by korean masters that were trained by japanese; b) by japanese masters that worked in Korea). Cheers, Nick P.S. Progress report on 1914 japanese pilot insignia - no special insignia, but uniform ;)
JapanX
Since 1905 Korea was occupied by Japan and was under its protectorate. On August 29, 1910 (less than a year from the time when this medal was issued) Korea became the part of Japanese Empire.
