Any more details regarding the issue? The why, when and where or of it.

It looks to have been hand engraved, so would this have been a field made piece?

I ask as from what I understand some German Iron Crosses were made in the field, I think there are photos of this somewhere in the German section.

The seller called it "Taiwan Counterattack Medal".

By the way the inscription is in Japanese not in Chinese!

 

 

 

It has another meaning, it is a metaphor for the wisdom of defeating disturbing emotions and demons, and the saving power of the Buddha.

The medal may be Chinese but the inscription suggests that we are dealing with Japanese Buddhism.
