syole
Are the epaulets / epaulettes in the attached image a pair, I'm pretty sure not but I'd rather know for sure. Similar To: Pair of Spanish Brass Epaulettes. Early 20th century. Each applied with a royal crown above entwined initials of Alfonso XIII, King of Spain (r. 1896-1931), the reverse stamped Lucas Saenz, Madrid on red felt backing. http://fineart.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=5003&lotIdNo=6131 (http://www.icollector.com/item.aspx?i=7973509) http://en.todocoleccion.net/original-epaulettes-king-of-spain-alfonso-xiii-age-quartermaster-official-corps~x31382448 http://www.intariamilitaria.com/CatMar11.htm

Laurence Strong
Looks like: 2 different style of crowns; 2 different type of buttons or keepers at the neck end and; The scroll work on the left set is more spread out than the right set, however that could be the way they are placed in the photo. Chris Boonzaier
Maybe same unit, but differen maker or epoch. Thing with eppaulettes... when they are being worn, noone sees both at the same time. Plenty of not 100% matching sets around and I assume plenty were worn like that as well. syole
Thank you very much, I don't suppose you have any idea how much a mis-match pair of these would be worth do you? I'm very new to collecting these types of items and wouldn't know where to start with mis-matched epaulettes This has helped me a lot. S.A
