Schlechtendal, Max Friedrich von

* 08.05.1868 in Düsseldorf, †28.07.1920

 

He was transferred as an Oberstleutnant from IR 31 to the Garde-Füsilier-Regiment in July 1914. On 2.8.1914 he became commander of the 1.GRR. He was promoted to Oberst on 18.8.1916. He commanded the 1.GRR until 20.8.1917, when he was named commander of the 80. Reserve-Infanterie-Brigade. On 28.9.1918 he took command of the 5. Landwehr-Infanterie-Brigade. After the war he commanded IR 31 until its dissolution and then the Auflösungsstab 2 of the Gardekorps. He was retired on 9.4.1920 and received the Charakter of Generalmajor on 4.6.1920 (effective from 9.4.1920), dying shortly thereafter.
