Chris Boonzaier Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Hi, Does anyone have anything on a Lt M Wagner, 6 Garde Inf Regt? Enjoy this little jewel....
Guest Rick Research Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 This is a VERY weird document! The wound badge "is awarded by ME" Lt. Wagner!!!? The script is... identical for the filled in entries AND the signature. Overly neat and calligraphic. I dunno.......
The Prussian Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Hi Chris! A phantastic document! The 15.7.18 was the day, when the 1.Army attacked Reims. (6.Garde-Inf.Rgt. < Gade-Ers.Div. < Gen.Kdo. Langer (XXIV.RK) < 1.Armee) Together with the 26.Inf.Div. they fought against the french 124.Division d´infanterie (IV. corps d´armée < 4° armee) north of Baconnes (20km south-east of Reims, 3km north-west of Mourmelon-le-grand). Garde-Ers.Div. did attack by the first ordre of the group at 4am without any success. At a lot of places the 6.Garde-Inf.Rgt. and Inf.Rgt.399 fought a long time in hand-grenades fights. They took 800 prisoners and didn´t have too much own losses.

Hi, since my original post this document and its group have become a "not for my collection" group. Best Chris
The Prussian Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 There really are some strange things in the document... The wounded badge, awarded by the Lt. The date of the firs attack. I suppose, the unit leader has better things to do than writing a certification like this JUST after the fights Why is the number 6 written in latin letters above (VI)? I´m not a specialist for those documents, I just noticed these things...
