The seller had several of these up for sale at the same tine, one of them is currently on eBay with a document in two separate auctions. The document came in a tube, but the two halves were clearly mismatched so the original seller may have just mixed and matched medals and documents too. I have yet to photograph the document. Soon. I don't how the seller managed to get so many of these medals and documents to sell at the same time. Maybe he had a thing for this award and that's all he collected! But my guess is there were a bunch of docs and awards and they simply got paired any which way. Overall, the set was quite nice - the medal was tarnished up, but given that everything was in a good state for the age, I decided to hand-polish it. Dieter3 Posted July 27, 2014 Author Share Posted July 27, 2014 Why not? If a piece looks overall aged like the ribbon, case, etc., I will tend to leave them be. But if the piece is otherwise in really nice shape, I may choose to polish them to a more visually appealing state. I'm not big into tarnish. Not to mention, now I can put a nice coat of wax on it to prevent any future tarnishing. Some folks lke the toning and tarnishing, and I do when the tarnish is really even, I mean, REALLY even.
