Newly arrived. I like this one, nice condition and with the box marked for 3rd Class:

Looks like this one belong to 20s/30s vintage

Yeah, the box is a nice addition. It also has a finger hole in the bottom to push the case up and out of the box. Ah, the little details......

I hate to bring filthy lucre into this, but does anyone know what the going rate is for a cased III Class example?

Well, this one came to me one year ago for the auction price of 6,095 yen, so back then that was probably like $80.00 or so. I've not been paying much attention to medals recently, a little watching nearly zero buying, so not sure one year later what one might be going for or what the general trend for medals has been recently.
