Chris Boonzaier Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Here are a couple of 3rd Jäger postcards, was really over the moon to get the one on the left in the post today....
Chris Boonzaier Posted July 17, 2013 Author Posted July 17, 2013 Here is a nice pic of Wilhelm Spaeth, KIA at Verdun, showing the Edelweiss being worn....
Guest Rick Research Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I know I've been offline too long, but is it really necessary to splat tags across perfectly good images like that? Don't we still hunt image pirates down and ... oh! We can't talk about that anymore, huh?
Chris Boonzaier Posted July 17, 2013 Author Posted July 17, 2013 Hi, i am always ready to provide scans to "good guys", but am always pissed when I see a Pic someone paid real money for, copied and pasted without a credit. Whole pages of kaiserscross have been copied and pasted elsewhere... so I try and make their life harder. Also the guys who sell pics on ebay with "this is a print of a copy of a photo" hidden somewhere in the decsription need to have something to stop them copying pics... Other Photos are bought with a specific purpose in mind, and on occasion cost a pretty penny... having the photo used elsewhere may defeat that purpose. then there are 2 solutions... If you want to post it but make sure it will not be used elsewhere, Tag it... The other solution is to not show it and hide it in a drawer until you use it for whatever the specific purpose is. I think then the tags are better. I remember when Ed flipped out about tags, but at the same time I think he had deleted his website to avoid people using some of his pictures... ;-)
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 I would kill for one of those tunics!!
Chip Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I've only seen one from the regiment in the flesh and it was the very late Bluse with the collar patches, metal "S's" and Bavarian blue/white Rautenborte. Still, very cool. Photos of regimental members in Blusen are quite scarce.Chip
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 14, 2013 Author Posted December 14, 2013 Here are a couple of skiers...
drakegoodman Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 The picture in the background shows the Schneekoppe mountain, part of the Riesengebirge.
Chip Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 I think that spire is Der Grünten, Kriegsdenkmal, Jäger memorial. These guys must be in Sonthofen. Chip
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 15, 2013 Author Posted December 15, 2013 I am guessing these are Photo studio backdrops... on many of them you can see the floor and the backdrop...
Chip Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Agreed, but one would guess they are in a local studio. You see a different backdrop of the mountains being used over and over in photos taken in Immenstadt. Chip
E Williams Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Been there. I lived in Rauhenzell for awhile.
