Wearing Copies

I have my two meagre original medals mounted in a frame.

So I thought it would be nice to have a 'spare' set in the very unlikely event that I might have to wear them ............... occasionally done at memorial services, etc.

The issue versions are on the left and the copies on the right.

Same here - strange to think our groups may be researched like the 1887/1897 etc - really don't like seeing guys putting theirs on ebay.

I always tell people to wear copies, which can be replaced. Mine are still in their boxes but I have mounted miniatures.

Do you wear your originals or copies?

 

Personally I wear my originals, my thinking being that’s what there designed for. Although I do understand why people would want to keep their originals in there boxes.

 

Long gone are the days of officers only having an LSGC. Not unusual now to see officers with 3 or 4 medals.

Starts getting a bit expensive, buying copies and getting them mounted!
