Japan Help needed quickly: Japanese Tamaya telescope and box

I would really appreciate any help you can give me regarding this item, a Tamaya and Co. Box and telescope. First, is it even WWII? All I have been able to find is Tamaya sextants. Is there any approximate value on this? Since I have not found anything comparable I don't have a value. Thanks in advance!

Date of manufacture (on the box) is August 1941

Thanks! Do you think this is complete, or part of something else like a sextant? Also, is it military or civilian? Its probably obvious that I have no experience with these.
