JapanX Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 (edited) Very common Medal of Honor with very uncommon set of bars appeared recently at YahooJapan The medal itself was issued in 1957. First golden bar was added in 1971, two golden bars were added in 1975 and the last golden bar cavalier received in 1977. Dōnātor with the very larga manu! Edited May 28, 2013 by JapanX
utopis Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 A very interesting construction. Not those lousy prong-attached bars the Germans used to have.
JapanX Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 A very interesting construction. Find one of mine Issued in 1928. Silver bars were added in 1930, 1931 and 1936. Golden bar was issued in 1940.
JapanX Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 As far as I understand all add-on bars from late 20s until 1945 were marked with M.
JapanX Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 "Intermediate" slim silver bars also look nice Exellent example of medal with two "slim`s" Medal was issued in the same 1928. Silver bars were added in 1939 and 1942.
JapanX Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 (edited) Really like the boxes for these additional bars Nice example of boxed bar that was issued in 1941. Edited June 2, 2013 by JapanX
JapanX Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 Interesting, that some of the bars on the first medal (with four golden bars) are marked too (with later two-digit-letter marks)
Dieter3 Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 I can't make out those letters. Bottom looks like "D?", can't read top one at all. Can you make them out?
JapanX Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 Yep, looks like D something ... The upper 9G? Photo is too vague to be sure ...
