French Napoleonic Naval Gorget ,addition to my collection

Hi ,

Thought I would share this gem with you that I recently acquired for my collection .

It pre-dates 1815 ,and depicts the early French eagle of Napoleon 1st ,unusually this is a Naval Officers Gorget..It demonstrates remains of its original fire gilding and retains its original rossets ....untouched condition .

I have been looking for a book on French gorget s

they seem to be still affordable and nice to look at. also many were "there" when history was made.
