Yugoslavia STRANGE METAL

Dear all,

I find recently this medal in Albania. It is no rare to find here in Albania this medal in bronze, but this piece is in white metal. Can anyone help me to explain this. It is an offical variant, or what?

Is it the standard medal which has been subsequently silvered with the shield painted. I suspect Radmilo will be able to give you a definitive answer.

Dear Artan,

As far as I know they were made of brass or tombak. It also looks a bit cruder (take a look at the swords and balls on edges of the cross). If not just silvered like Paul mentioned maybe some private workshop or perhaps even a copy(?). I've seen these medals being sold as souvenirs.
