Guest Rick Research Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Schiffer Books put out a multiple volume set a few years ago on Tsarist aces: uniforms, award lists... but at about $100 each book, more than a casual interest could justify for me. But those books should be out there--and this fellow should be identifiable. I only have a less successful flyer.
JapanX Posted July 17, 2013 Author Posted July 17, 2013 Yep. Blume, August. The Russian Military Air Fleet in World War I, Volume One. (Schiffer Publishing, 2010). ISBN 0764333518, 978-0764333514. Blume, August. The Russian Military Air Fleet in World War I, Volume Two. (Schiffer Publishing, 2010) ISBN 0764333526, 9780764333521. Unfortunately I don't have them in my library ... He may be even in this list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_World_War_I_flying_aces_from_the_Russian_Empire I only have a less successful flyer. I don't know about this... Looks like a quite successful fighter ... on the love front
TacHel Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 A few questions, being quite unfamiliar with the period Russian air force uniforms... What are the insignia worn on the 1st pic's center of the chest and on Rick's pic shoulder board? Eagles? Any chance of seeing images of them? Beautiful pics gents BTW!
