Ian Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 One more of my 'I can't make out his scribble' photos. I suspect this Oberstleutnant is from IR 4 as the background (although very blurry) appears to be similar if not the same as the previous photo I posted of Oberstleutnant Hugo Nedjela.
Guest Rick Research Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Spot on the regiment! (Johann) "Fr(ei)herr von Odelga" and even I can't make out the scribbled dangly at the end which must be his rank, abbreviated. At 90º here it is too hot to handle dried up brittle brown K.u.k. Schematismus for dates and details currently, but that's who he is.
Ian Posted July 20, 2013 Author Posted July 20, 2013 (edited) Rick, Outstanding! Oberstleutnant Johann Freiherr von Odelga-Zakany. Promoted 01 Feb 1918. At a brisk 13 C it is the exact opposite here; roll on summer!. Edited July 20, 2013 by Ian
Glenn J Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Ian, an earlier portrait of Johann Frhr. v. Odelga in 1915. Regards Glenn
