speagle Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 (edited) Saw this during one of my recent antique store browsing's. Interesting as it supposedly has Sikorsky's signature on the certificate. Just couldn't bring myself to shell out $100.00 US for an "unauthenticated" signature (not that I would probably do it for an authenticated one Edited August 4, 2013 by speagle
Paul R Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I know of this award. Coast Guard members are still eligible to receive this award every time a life is saved on board of a helicopter. The younger kids normally get them. Regardless, I would be willing to bet that an early award like this would have an original signature on it. There were not too many helicopter rescues at sea back then. Although.... quite a few lives were saved in Korea by helicopters.
Rogi Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Igor Sikorsky! Man I wish I had 100 bucks laying around lol Thanks for sharing it with us very interesting. Regards, Igor
