Gents I got this portrait and I have some questions. I think he is an SS Leader but

why are his sleeveband and his collar tabs white ?

    Please enlighten me.

:Cat-Scratch::speechless1: Perhaps because he was in the 1940+ DUTCH SS-Oberabschnitt "Nordwest" at Den Haag, not the old Oberabschnitt headquartered at Hamburg????

I cannot make out the RANK on that tab--can you? No date or name, I suppose? I have SS Dientalterslistten 1934 and 1937 for all officers but only Sturmbannführer up 1944.

Any "Ehrenführer" insignia I ever saw had normal BLACK tabs with something like added emblems... never WHITE!

@ Rick Unfortunately there is no name or photographer label on the reverse side.

@ Paul I´ve never heard from a SS Reserve, but it´s not my time of interest,

it´s only a purchase from the flea market

He's an Allgemeine-SS reservist. Rare photo.

Here are some other reservist pix ................ white collars and cuffs. ;)

    Paul.

    Methinks not.

The SA (not SS) Reserve had white borders to their SA armbands.

But SS Reservists wore the standard red SS armband with black borders..

I once (and only once) was offered a completely white SS armband, with black borders and paper SS-RZM label.

It was for sale around 1990.

    Undoubtedly original.

God only knows why I didn't snap it up.

And God only knows who originally wore it.

Here's the SA Reserve band with white borders ........................
