Paul R Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 I have just won this bar. I feel good about it. It did not spend much, but I am happy!! What are your thoughts!Paul
Guest Rick Research Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Looks like a minty fresh 25mm width sew on pair. A rather unusual Imperial period style but not unknown. That's the Saxe-Meiningen War Merit Cross/Medal there after the Iron Cross. Give it a flash with your blacklight when it arrives, and if silk and not synthetic, you got a winner!
Paul R Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 Thanks Rick! I will surely do that! I will keep you posted!
Stogieman Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Nice little bar Paul and a rather scarce combination. Nice grab!
Paul R Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 Thanks Rick! Is there a way to tell the grade of this medal by the ribbon as shown?
Guest Rick Research Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Nope. In very unusual and unauthorized (but logical) wear a bronze crown device is sometimes seen to indicate the Cross (which is actually the round Medal, pierced, and with a crown suspesion)-- but that was NEVER official.
