Chris Boonzaier Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 This is a rather nice Photo... Can anyone identify what he is wearing?
Komtur Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Possibly EK2 1914, Austria Marianenkreuz, Landwehrdienstauszeichnung 2. Klasse, Austria Ehrenzeichen vom Roten Kreuz 2. Klasse. Regards, Komtur.
Chris Boonzaier Posted September 24, 2013 Author Posted September 24, 2013 Unfortunately no way to tell which unit. Do you think the order is correct? Prussian, Austrian, Prussian, Austrian?
redeagleorder Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 If the Austrian Ehrenzeichen vom roten kreuz 2, klasse is peacetime, then yes
Valter Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Very cool pic. Yes, these are two Austrian medic crosses. But why he's wearing EK ribbon in the buttonhole plus Ek on medal bar? Did he just put the medal bar on for that special occasion, and didn't remove the ribbon from buttonhole, where he usually wore it, or is the ribbon in buttonhole for something else?
E Williams Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 (edited) Why a EKII on a ribbon bar or medal bar and also a EKII ribbon in the button hole? I've seen this in other photos too. Edited October 7, 2013 by E Williams
Komtur Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 ... But why he's wearing EK ribbon in the buttonhole plus Ek on medal bar? Did he just put the medal bar on for that special occasion, and didn't remove the ribbon from buttonhole, where he usually wore it ... I think that´s the case. Possibly the ribbon in the buttonhole, worn daily, is sewed with the uniform and therefore can no be removed easily, if one decided to wear the whole orderbar. Regards, Komtur.
