E Williams Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 (edited) This next one is my honey, I was in the right place, right time and it was orgasmic when it arrived. The newspaper clipping was folded twice and the recipients name underlined and was fitted perfect under the ribbon space. You just can't get anything better, the Cross is in excellent condition. Glenn R Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Superb selection of crosses. What an incredible bonus to find that tucked away in the box. Fantastic.

Glenn, I knew it existed before I latched onto it, it had been offered just a few minutes before. When it arrived, he had folded the clipping back up and placed it as he found it. I traced the man and he survived the war. He was not on any casualty list or Denkmal somewhere.
IrishGunner Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Nice EK with the clipping... Seeds for more research.
E Williams Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 (edited) A few medals bars......one is named. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_09_2013/post-16240-0-75192200-1380130696.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_09_2013/post-16240-0-58160200-1380130755.jpg I would be up for a trade for the Marine set. I don't collect Marine so if someone who does can offere a similar bar but not named, I'd be willing to trade in same condition. The IC on the bar with the Hessian silver bravery medal was late war issue, very poor silver. Edited September 25, 2013 by E Williams

Thats a nice piece indeed. Have you done any unit research?
