Paul R Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I dont know if this is me, but I do not like the detail on the swastika and eagle on the obverse. Also, I have never seen that type of rim defect before.
Filip1945 Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 (edited) I made a few more pics, but I have a weak aparat.Medal rather good, because it is the soldier. Details are sharp . This may be a trace of the IMO form? I think that probably for the production of matrix? Edited November 13, 2013 by Filip1945
Paul R Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 It could be OK, but the details are not what I am used to seeing. I would love to have the input of additional members as well. Maybe I am being too selective?
Paul R Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I am in conflict on whether this example is original.
Paul R Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Thanks John. It looks like I was being a little paranoid then. The one I have seems to have a bit more sharpness in the details. Perhaps it was just a well worn die that made this one. John's word is one that I would trust any day.
Filip1945 Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 Thanks for your help. So it goes with the original? Has anyone photo copy ?
Paul R Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 I have been very busy at work. but I will make time to create photos of mine for the discussion. I am sorry to take so long to post them. Paul

ChrisKelly Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Thought this may help... Ever heard of the "Austrian variation"? I don't know how legitimate that is, but here's a few images from around the internet of examples presented as genuine: Also, here's an image from the now defunct Russian web-site, "antique-photos.com":
